EA arbeitet für Marvel an drei neuen Computerspielen

EA and Marvel recently announced that they’re collaborating on a long-term deal. This deal will bring at least three new action-adventure games to gamers. According to the press release, each game will feature its own original story and the first one will focus on Iron Man.(via)

In dieser Woche haben EA und Marvel offiziell durch eine Presseerklärung verkündet, dass sie eine neue langfristige Abmachung getroffen haben. Diese Zusammenarbeit zwischen den beiden Unternehmen soll auf die Entwicklung von mehreren neuen Computerspielen zu den Werken von Marvel hinauslaufen. Zu Beginn sind drei brandneue Titel geplant, die wohl alle in das Genre der Action-Adventure Games fallen und eigene Geschichten erzählen sollen.

Das erste dieser neuen Spiele scheint schon jetzt ansatzweise geplant zu sein. Laut der Ankündigung wird es sich um Iron Man drehen und eine Geschichte rund um diesen Charakter erzählen. Dabei streben die Verantwortlichen wohl eine Handlung für ihr Spiel an, die den Spielern vermitteln, wie komplex, charismatisch und genial Tony Stark wirklich ist. Fans der Figur dürfen sich also scheinbar auf ein Projekt mit hohen Zielen freuen. Ansonsten soll das Spiel einen Titel für einzelne Spieler darstellen und eine Third Person Sicht verwenden.

Als Studio für das Projekt wurde Motive Studios ausgewählt, die in der Vergangenheit unter anderem für Dead Space, und Star Wars Battlefront 2 verantwortlich waren. Das Team wird von Olivier Prolux geleitet und der Entwickler hat wohl ein Team aus Veteranen der Branche zusammengestellt. Dazu gehören unter anderem Ian Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau und JF Poirier. Das Erste von drei neuen Spielen scheint sich also in guten Händen zu befinden.

Ansonsten gibt es aktuell noch keine Details dazu, wann das Iron Man Spiel erscheinen soll. Vermutlich werden wir im kommenden Jahr aber viele weitere Informationen zu diesem Projekt erhalten. Zumindest klingt es irgendwie so, als hätte das Team schon mit der Entwicklung gestartet und eine gute Vorstellung davon, was für ein Produkt sie am Ende abliefern möchten. Die anderen zwei Titel sind aktuell noch komplett unbekannt.

Each of these games will be their own original story set in the Marvel universe with the first title in-development being a single player, third person, action-adventure Iron Man game coming out of Motive Studios.

Developed in collaboration with Marvel, the Iron Man game will feature an original narrative that taps into the rich history of the character, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man. The team is being led by Olivier Proulx, who brings experience working on past Marvel titles like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and is joined by a dedicated team of passionate industry veterans including Ian Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau, and JF Poirier at the studio.
