Delivering a keynote at Series Mania Lille Dialogues on Tuesday, Koeppen noted that Disney is currently on track to produce 60 European original series by 2024, up from the previous target of 50. (<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2021\/streaming\/global\/disney-plus-european-production-series-mania-1235052634\/\">via<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jan Koeppen (<em>President von Disney in Europa<\/em>) war in dieser Woche auf einer Branchenveranstaltung in Frankreich zu Gast und hielt dort unter anderem eine Keynote-Ansprache f\u00fcr Disneys Pl\u00e4ne bez\u00fcglich Produktionen in Europa. Dabei verk\u00fcndete Koeppen unter anderem, dass Disney bis zum Jahr 2024 insgesamt 60 neue Serien in Europa drehen m\u00f6chte. Diese Serien sollen oft regionale Themen aufgreifen, Fans au\u00dferhalb der USA mehr Inhalte in ihrer eigenen Sprache anbieten und exklusiv auf Disney+ erscheinen. Bisher waren nur 50 neue Serien dieser Art geplant.<\/p>\n<p>60 neue Serien aus Europa ist auf jeden Fall eine ganz gute Anzahl. Es kann nur gut f\u00fcr den Dienst sein, wenn das Sortiment an Eigenproduktionen noch weiter aufgestockt wird und das Ganze sich nicht nur auf Star Wars und\/oder Marvel verlassen muss. Auch, wenn das nat\u00fcrlich weiterhin die gro\u00dfen Zugpferde von Disney+ sein werden. Ich freue mich in den n\u00e4chsten Jahren \u00fcber das gr\u00f6\u00dfere Angebot und mehr Vielfalt bei den vorhandenen Serien. Bisher konnte mich zwar noch keiner der gro\u00dfen Streaming-Dienste mit seinen ausl\u00e4ndischen Produktionen (<em>au\u00dferhalb der USA<\/em>) \u00fcberzeugen, aber bei 60 geplanten Serien sollte zumindest das eine oder andere Highlight dabei sein.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Jan Koeppen<\/strong>: While The Walt Disney Company has a long heritage of producing content in Europe for our channels business, as well as producing some of our big blockbuster movies like \u2018Cruella\u2019 or \u2018Star Wars: Episode IX \u2013 The Rise of Skywalker\u2019 here \u2013 it is the launch of <a id=\"auto-tag_disney-plus_1\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/disney-plus\/\">Disney Plus<\/a> that has allowed us to put an afterburner on our European productions and to create a whole new slate of local originals,\u201d Koeppen said. \u201cWe have already announced 16 local original Disney Plus series for Europe, and had previously announced our plan to grow this to 50 European series by 2024 \u2013 so we are leaning in.
