We\u2019re excited to share some numbers with you, some insights into recent changes, some of our upcoming plans, and a few changes we\u2019re making over the coming months to improve the player experience.<\/span> (via<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Vor einigen Tagen haben die Entwickler von Blizzard Entertainment einen neuen umfangreichen Patch f\u00fcr Hearthstone auf ihre Liveserver aufgespielt, der nicht nur ein neues Mini-Set mit sich brachte, sondern gleichzeitig auch noch eine Reihe von Neuerungen in den S\u00f6ldnermodus implementierte. Passend zu diesen neuen Inhalten f\u00fcr den S\u00f6ldnermodus ver\u00f6ffentlichten die Entwickler netterweise auch noch ein informatives Entwicklerupdate zu diesem Them auf ihrer Communityseite. In diesem Beitrag gehen die Entwickler auf die neuen Inhalte aus diesem Update, den bisherigen Erfolg des S\u00f6ldnermodus und ihre Pl\u00e4ne f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chsten Monate ein.<\/p>\n
Wer also erfahren m\u00f6chte, was genau in der nahen Zukunft f\u00fcr den S\u00f6ldnermodus erscheinen wird, der sollte einen Blick auf die folgende Zusammenfassung der Informationen werfen.<\/p>\n
\n
- Bisher haben die Spieler mehr als eine Milliarde Minuten in den K\u00e4mpfen des S\u00f6ldnermodus verbracht und mehr als 100 Millionen Kopfgelder beendet.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Zur Feier dieses Erfolgs werden die Entwickler am 09. November 2021 insgesamt 5 kostenlose S\u00f6ldnerpackungen an alle Spieler verteilen.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Der Patch aus dieser Woche brachte 5 neue S\u00f6ldner mit sich. Die Grafik unter diesem Link<\/a> beinhaltet alle Informationen. Zus\u00e4tzlich dazu wurde der Schwarzfels um einige neue Kopfgelder erweitert.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Das Team hat f\u00fcr die Zukunft neuen Content, Balance Update und Verbesserungen der Spielqualit\u00e4t geplant.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Die Entwickler m\u00f6chten das Brett mit Aufgaben in der Zukunft etwas verbessern. Die t\u00e4gliche Aufgabe von Toki k\u00f6nnte deutlich interessanter sein. Zus\u00e4tzlich dazu sollen den Spielern mehr Optionen zum Freischalten von neuen Aufgaben zur Verf\u00fcgung stehen.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Eine Trainingshalle f\u00fcr das Dorf ist geplant. Dadurch k\u00f6nnen die Spieler ihre S\u00f6ldner auch au\u00dferhalb von K\u00e4mpfen auf eine h\u00f6here Stufe bringen. Scheinbar k\u00f6nnen die Spieler ihre S\u00f6ldner in diese Halle packen und dadurch \u00fcber den Tag verteilt langsam EXP f\u00fcr diesen Charakter sammeln.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Die Entwickler \u00fcberwachen sowohl das Balancing f\u00fcr den PvP Modus als auch die L\u00e4nge und die Effektivit\u00e4t der Warteschlange.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Die erste Saison f\u00fcr den S\u00f6ldnermodus wird gleichzeitig mit der gewerteten Saison f\u00fcr den November 2021 enden. Danach werden die Saisons jeden Monat enden und sich zur\u00fccksetzen.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ein zuk\u00fcnftiger Patch soll einige der PvE Kopfgelder besser Balancen und sie ein weniger leichter gestalten.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Weitere heroische Kopfgelder und Herausforderungen f\u00fcr das PvE sind auf jeden Fall geplant.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Das Team arbeitet aktuell an weiteren Anpassungen f\u00fcr die Spawnrate des mysteri\u00f6sen Fremden. Gleichzeitig ziehen die Entwickler einige Anpassungen an den Belohnungen von Kopfgeldern in Betracht.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Die Entwickler wollen einige schnell kommende kleinere Verbesserungen daran durchf\u00fchren, wie die Spieler ihre S\u00f6ldner und kosmetischen Inhalte erhalten. Gleichzeitig sind gr\u00f6\u00dfere Anpassungen f\u00fcr die Zukunft geplant.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Das Team denkt \u00fcber \u00c4nderungen daran nach, wie doppelte S\u00f6ldner vom Spiel gehandhabt werden.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Alle K\u00e4ufer von S\u00f6ldner-Paketen werden bald den\u00a0 grundlegenden Skin des Helden aus ihrem erworbenen Paket als kostenlose Belohnung erhalten. Wer also beispielsweise das Diablo-Paket erworben hat, der darf sich \u00fcber das Base Portr\u00e4t<\/span> f\u00fcr Diablo freuen.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Es soll bald mehr Optionen zum Kaufen und zum Freischalten von Skins geben.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\nMercenaries Launch Celebration<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
When we were building Mercenaries, we were looking to make a mode that delivered different gameplay experiences than Standard, Battlegrounds, and our other modes. Our goal was to figure out how to build a great collection RPG, with deep, strategic combat that you can pick up and play even for bite-sized play sessions. To us, the heart of Mercenaries is collecting Mercenaries, powering them up, and engaging in strategic combat with your foes \u2013 be they PvE or PvP.<\/span><\/p>\n
We\u2019re grateful for the millions of you who are playing Mercenaries. So far, you\u2019ve totaled over one billion <\/strong>minutes of combat time and over 100 million<\/strong> combined Bounties (and that number\u2019s excluding Heroic Air Elemental). Upcoming Content<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
This week, we\u2019re adding our first new Mercenaries, with your favorite Deadmine-dwelling pirate, Edwin VanCleef!<\/a> Along with VanCleef and his pirate band, we\u2019re releasing new bounties in Blackrock Mountain to pursue. New Bounty Bosses Highlord Omokk, General Drakkisath, and Rend Blackhand await your challenge, and grant you rewards upon their defeat!<\/span><\/p>\n
This is the first of many content drops we\u2019ve planned for Mercenaries, and we\u2019re excited to see how all of you hunt down these bounties and utilize these new Mercs in your Parties!<\/span><\/p>\n
What We\u2019ve Done & Changes to Come<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
Over the first few weeks, our team has been fixing bugs and tuning systems guided in part by your feedback. We\u2019ve already made some immediate changes<\/a> and have several larger challenges that the team is focused on tackling. We\u2019re looking to improve the mode with content releases, balance patches, quality of life improvements (e.g., making it so that many daily and weekly Rewards Track quests will be completable in Mercenaries), system improvements in the Village, and more clarity in product descriptions and functionality. We\u2019ll continue to look at both the data and your feedback as we improve and polish the Mercenaries experience.<\/span><\/p>\n
The Village<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
We\u2019ve loved the outpour of excitement around the Village artwork and the fantasy it evokes. That said, there are areas of the Village that we think have room for improvement:<\/span><\/p>\n
\n
- Task Board<\/strong>: Early on, we heard your desire for more Tasks, so we increased the Task Board daily refresh to refill all <\/em>open daily slots, instead of only two. That said, we also know there are things we can improve on from here. For instance, we think Toki is doing her job well, but that her visits could be more interesting. We\u2019re also exploring more ways to give players Tasks.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Buildings:<\/strong> We launched the Village with future expansion in mind, but we want to make sure we add systems and upgrades that the community is excited about. Our first addition is something we\u2019ve heard a lot of desire for: alternative ways to level up your Mercenaries. We\u2019re excited to announce the Training Hall will be coming in a future patch, to let your Mercs passively gain XP throughout the day. We\u2019ll have more details on the Training Hall closer to when it launches. In the meantime, we\u2019d love to hear from you about other buildings or systems you want to see added into Mercenaries.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The Fighting Pit<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
We\u2019ve been following along with the constantly evolving meta for PvP and have many people on our team playing along with you. It’s been awesome to see the community enjoying PvP, and we want to continue to deliver on that skill-testing, mental game that it provides.<\/span><\/p>\n
We saw your feedback on queue times and AI, and we made some adjustments to matchmaking parameters so that players, on average, would have shorter queue times and face fewer AI opponents. We saw players engaging in exploits that detracted from the Fighting Pit experience, and we made a couple changes to that system. After seeing your response, we adjusted our initial fix so that you now only need to defeat one enemy Mercenary for the game to count as a win. We\u2019ll continue to monitor this and work to find that sweet spot that discourages behavior that ruins the mode for everyone, while also still ensuring that our core player base is properly rewarded.<\/span><\/p>\n
Finally, we wanted to let you know that the first Mercenaries season will end at the same time as the November ranked ladder season. We wanted to give players more time in the first season to learn the ropes and make up for the mid-month launch. After this first season, Mercenaries seasons will reset every month, like the ranked ladder season.<\/span><\/p>\n
The Travel Point<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
You\u2019re all excellent Bounty hunters, and we see a lot of players having fun with PvE! We\u2019ve noticed that most Bounties are the appropriate difficulty for Parties at the map\u2019s suggested level. However, we also noticed that some bosses are a bit too tough\u2014we’re looking at you, Heroic Snowclaw\u2014and we\u2019re working to get these re-balanced in a future update.<\/span><\/p>\n
Heroic Bounties are an integral part of Mercenaries\u2013they give a breadth of Mercenaries an opportunity to shine, and are an exciting challenge, especially for players who prefer to focus on the PVE aspects of the mode. We\u2019ll continue to invest in late-game content by adding additional challenging Bounties as part of our regular content updates.<\/span><\/p>\n
Pacing and rewards are things we want to continue to address. Currently, we\u2019re working on another adjustment to how the Mysterious Stranger works, which will be included in a future patch. We\u2019re also considering holistically re-assessing Normal and Heroic Bounty rewards. On both fronts, we\u2019re testing solutions with player interests in mind, and will have changes to share soon.<\/span><\/p>\n
Building Your Collection<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n
We\u2019ve heard feedback about how the pack system and the experience of collecting could be improved. We\u2019re making some short-term fixes here, but we\u2019re also taking a look at the system as a whole to make sure it\u2019s delivering the experience we want for you. Here are some of the things we\u2019re considering:<\/span><\/p>\n

- Getting you what you want: <\/strong>One of the biggest challenges in Mercenaries has been getting the players the things they really<\/em> want, in an appropriate way. We like that Bounty Boss rewards provide direction to earning specific coins, and we think that system is working well.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Duplicate mercs<\/strong>: We\u2019ve heard feedback that some products aren\u2019t working how players expect, or want, so we\u2019re exploring options for changing how duplicate Mercenaries work in the shop.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Pre-purchase Portraits: <\/strong>We saw confusion and disappointment with how the pre-purchase Diamond Portraits interact with other Mercenaries products. We thought that the super-rare Portraits were a strong value for the pre-purchase bundle, but we can do more. For each player who pre-purchased any Mercenaries bundles, we will be adding the base version of the pre-purchase bundle Legendary Mercenary to your collection.<\/strong> If you bought the Diablo pre-purchase, you\u2019ll be given the base Diablo portrait. The same will be true for Lich King and Sylvanas. Anyone who already owns the base version of their pre-purchase Mercenary will have the extra copy automatically converted into 100 Coins for that Mercenary. We plan to add these to your account by November 16th<\/sup>.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Pack logic<\/strong>: The philosophy behind Mercenaries Packs is to grant you both Mercenaries and their cosmetics along the way.\u00a0 We\u2019ve gotten lots of feedback on both sides of the fence\u2014from those who only care about the functional value of having all the Mercs, and those who love the Portraits. We don\u2019t have anything to announce today, but we wanted to let you know that we\u2019ve heard your feedback and are looking into this.<\/span><\/li>\n
- More Portraits<\/strong>: We see that there are some players who are very interested in finding all the Portraits that Mercenaries has to offer. While the only current way to get Portraits is via Packs, we\u2019ll be adding more direct ways to acquire Portraits and are considering other changes to how Portraits are obtained.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
We\u2019re excited to continue to grow and refine this game with you. We love how the community has passionately embraced Mercenaries as a new game mode. We also know that Mercenaries isn\u2019t for everyone, and that\u2019s okay too. There\u2019s tons of new content coming across all of Hearthstone\u2019s modes! We\u2019ll continue to service all our players, in all our modes, so we can all keep playing our favorite game in the way we want.
