Collider’s own Steven Weintraub had the opportunity to talk with Stuart about Vikings: Valhalla for Season 2 where he also asked if he was still working on Assassin’s Creed, to which Stuart said he is „no longer involved“ in the project. Weintraub followed up with an inquiry about what led to the separation between the two parties, asking if it was a „difference in vision. (via<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Auch wenn Serien- oder Filmadaptionen von Computerspielen in der Vergangenheit oft automatisch als mies eingestuft wurden, so hat Netflix in den vergangenen Jahren aber gezeigt, dass dieses Vorurteil nicht unbedingt zutreffen muss. Mit Projekten wie beispielsweise Castlevania<\/span>, Arcane<\/span> oder Cyberpunk: Edgerunners<\/span> hat die Plattform einige wirklich gelungene Adaptionen abgeliefert. Zus\u00e4tzlich dazu arbeitet Netflix derzeit auch noch an weiteren neuen Adaptionen von anderen Computerspielen, zu denen unter anderem eine im September 2022 angek\u00fcndigte Serie zu der\u00a0Assassin’s Creed Reihe geh\u00f6rt.<\/p>\n

Bisher gibt es zu dieser Serienadaption von\u00a0Assassin’s Creed bedauerlicherweise relativ wenig Informationen. Eigentlich war in den letzten Monaten nur bekannt, dass Netflix solch ein Projekt anstrebt und Jeb<\/span> Stuart (Vikings<\/span>: Valhalla<\/span>) als Showrunner angeheuert wurde. Diese eine best\u00e4tigte Information zu der Show<\/span> hat sich vor Kurzem wohl aber auch ver\u00e4ndert und Stuart scheint nicht mehr l\u00e4nger aktiv an dieser Produktion beteiligt zu sein.<\/p>\n

Diese Information stammt aus einem vor Kurzem zwischen Jeb<\/span> Stuart und collider.com gef\u00fchrten Interview. In diesem Gespr\u00e4ch \u00e4u\u00dferte sich der Serienmacher unter anderem zu seiner Zusammenarbeit mit Netflix und den Pl\u00e4nen f\u00fcr die Adaption von\u00a0Assassin’s Creed. Dabei best\u00e4tigte Stuart, dass er nicht mehr l\u00e4nger als Showrunner f\u00fcr diese Serie fungiert und die Produktion verlassen hat. Als Grund daf\u00fcr nannte er einen Umzug der Produktion von LA nach London, wodurch ein neues Team die Z\u00fcgel an sich nehmen und ihre eigene Idee f\u00fcr die Show umsetzen konnte.<\/p>\n

„I think it was a little bit of a move of executives from LA to London, and it allowed the London group who, unfortunately, had to inherit my vision of what it was instead of getting to develop their own vision. So I think that’s fair. I know it’s going to be great whenever it comes out. I think the Ubisoft guys are fantastic. I think it’s a terrific franchise. It was just a good, mutual time to move on for both sides.“<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ein neuer Showrunner f\u00fcr das Projekt wurde bisher noch nicht offiziell vorgestellt. Das gesamte Projekt befindet sich wohl noch immer in einer recht fr\u00fchen Phase der Entstehung, die Netflix zusammen mit Ubisoft Film and<\/span> Television hinter sich bringen muss. Der Verlust des bisherigen Showrunners d\u00fcrfte diesen Prozess ein wenig erschweren, weil ohne diese Position eine \u00fcbergreifende Vision f\u00fcr das Projekt fehlt. Daher kann man nur hoffen, dass die Show bald einen neuen Verantwortlichen erh\u00e4lt.<\/p>\n

Ich h\u00e4tte wirklich darauf getippt, dass wieder einmal kreative Auseinandersetzungen der Grund f\u00fcr das Ausscheiden des Showsrunners<\/span> sind. Irgendwie l\u00e4uft es bei Adaptionen immer auf diesen Punkt hinaus. Netflix hat bestimmte „Ziele“<\/span> und die angeheuerten Verantwortlichen decken sich nicht immer mit diesen Absichten. In diesem Fall scheint das Ganze zwar einen anderen Grund zu haben, aber trotzdem musste Stuart in dem Interview noch einmal die Vision des neuen verantwortlichen Teams ansprechen.
