WoW: Die Saison der Meisterschaft startet am 16. November

Um Vanilla WoW möglichst lange interessant und unterhaltsam zu gestalten, haben die Entwickler von Blizzard Entertainment sich die Saison der Meisterschaft ausgedacht. Wie der Name bereits vermuten lässt, handelt es sich dabei um Saison für WoW Classic, die eigene Server besitzen werden und eine separate Version des Spiels darstellen. Jede Saison dieser Art soll 12 Monate lang laufen und die Spieler in dieser Zeit von MC/Ony bis zu Naxxramas bringen. Dabei liegt der Fokus auf einer zeitlich limitierten Herausforderung, weshalb diese Version von Vanilla auch einige Anpassungen, Veränderungen und hilfreiche Verbesserungen beinhaltet.

Da die Saison der Meisterschaft sich mittlerweile bereits seit einiger Zeit in einer Beta befindet, haben die Entwickler gestern Abend nun auch endlich verkündet, wann genau sie die erste Saison dieser Art starten möchten.  Laut der Ankündigung der Entwickler soll die erste Saison der Meisterschaft bereits am 16. November 2021 um 3:00 p.m. PST. (00:00 Uhr am 17.11) zeitgleich auf der gesamten Welt beginnen. Ab diesem Moment können die Spieler die klassischen Server der Saison der Meisterschaft betreten, frische Stufe 1 Helden in die Spielwelt bringen und ihre erneute Levelphase beginnen.

Um sicherzustellen, dass der Start so reibungslos wie nur möglich abläuft und besonders interessierte Spieler ihre favorisierten Charakternamen verwenden können, soll es auch bei dieser Spielversion wieder eine frühzeitige Möglichkeit zum Sichern von Namen geben. Dieser Vorgang soll schon am 11. November 2021 starten und Spielern mit einem laufenden Abo für WoW frühzeitig Zugang zu der Charaktererstellung gewähren. Ab dem 11. November können die Spieler eine begrenzte Anzahl von Helden vorbereiten, die ihnen ab dem 16. November dann richtig zur Verfügung stehen.

When you reserve a name, you’ll also choose the realm you will play that character on. There are a few additional things to keep in mind as you make your choice:

• After WoW Classic Season of Mastery is live, you’ll be able to create additional characters up to a maximum of 50 characters in each of our three games: 
  • Up to 50 characters total in World of Warcraft Classic (includes Season of Mastery)
  • Up to 50 characters in Burning Crusade Classic
  • Up to 50 characters in World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands
• Characters that were created for the WoW Classic Season of Mastery Open Beta will not be available to use in WoW Classic Season of Mastery.
• For the name reservation period only, we will have a limit on the number of characters that can be reserved on a realm. When the realms go live, the limit will be removed.

To create a character and play WoW Classic Season of Mastery, you will need to download and install the client first.

1. Open the Battle.net desktop app and select World of Warcraft in the game selection menu.
2. Select World of Warcraft Classic. If you have more than one World of Warcraft account, you’ll see a second dropdown for Account. In that column, select the active account you want to play on.
3. Click the Install button. You’ll see an installation progress bar that will show you when the installation is available to play.
4. Once the installation is complete, click the Play button.

You’ll need to select the Season of Mastery realm you want to play on which will be identified in the Realm list. Then select Create New Character. You’ll be able to choose your faction, class, and race, as well as fully customize your new character and name them. If you change your mind about a character and have already reserved one, you will need to delete the one you made. Please note, the name associated with the character you deleted will be immediately available again to be claimed.

Once you’ve created your new character, all that will be left is to synchronize your chronometer with your friends and allies and prepare for your world (of Warcraft) domination! We’ll see you in Azeroth at 3:00 p.m. PST on November 16!
