In der Nacht von gestern auf heute wurden von der Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences zum mittlerweile bereits 96. Mal die Oscars verliehen. Diese Preisverleihung soll die besten Filme und Filmschaffenden eines jeweiligen Jahres und die damit verbundenen Leistungen in aktuell 23 verschiedenen Kategorien auszeichnen. Auch wenn es keinen offiziellen Gewinner eines Abends gibt, so wurde das gestrige Event aber recht eindeutig von Christopher Nolans Oppenheimer dominiert.

Dieser historische Film konnte sich im Jahr 2024 nämlich insgesamt sieben Oscars in verschiedenen Kategorien sichern. Dazu gehört auch der extrem begehrte Preis als bester Film eines vergangenen Jahres. Dazu kommen der Preis für Nolan selbst als bester Regisseur, Cillian Murphy erhielt den Preis als bester Schauspieler und Robert Downey Jr. wurde als bester Nebendarsteller ausgezeichnet. Des Weiteren hat Oppenheimer auch noch die Preise für den besten Score, den besten Edit und die beste Cinematography erhalten.

Eine gewisse Überraschung war der Film Poor Thing, der mit vier Oscars ausgezeichnet wurde. Unerwartet war dabei dann die Auszeichnung von Emma Stone als beste Schauspielerin, weil viele Menschen diese Auszeichnung bereits in den Händen von Lily Gladstone für ihre Rolle in Killers of the Flower Moon sahen. Der Film wurde außerdem auch noch für die besten Kostüme, das beste Production Design und das beste Make-up geehrt.
